A Chuckle from Heritage Correctness

First … fond as I am of devising new ways to denote certain things, I want to introduce into the dialogue the concept of “heritage correctness.” It’s a distant cousin of what we hear called “political correctness” but bears little relation to what might be called “historical correctness.” After all, it’s heritage, not history, as we all know.

Here’s one example from the gift that keeps on giving:

Defending our Heritage means aiming for the truth!

Given the image that accompanies this declaration, this means shooting the truth down dead in its tracks.

And so it goes.

In related news, the name of one of our most frequent commenters in past weeks has vanished from this informative statement. What happened, Michael Lucas?

  1. Probably participating in blog discussions was taking too much time from his staff duties. I wonder if perhaps he actually learned something, which made him inelgible to be a staff officer. :)

:-) :-) :-) If the Confederates had fought the Union army as vigorously as the Lost Causers fight the truth, they’d have won the war.

You guys are really pathetic little children.

    • Gee, Michael … what happened to you at the SHPG? Lovers’ quarrel?

“You guys are really pathetic little children.”

That’s beside the point ;-) (and I’m only speaking for myself here)

Let’s face it, Michael–it isn’t any worse than some of the stuff I’ve seen over at the SHPG. A little lighthearted verbal jousting never hurt anyone!

Come on, you know perfectly well that similar anti-Unionist comments are quickly met with approval over at your site.

Walker first of all the SHPG is not my site, like every group it has its highs and lows. Second there are pathetic nit picky children everywhere.

        • Indeed … Michael appears to have been tossed from the “officers” of the SHPG since he started appearing here on a regular basis. I didn’t know he was so eager to distance himself from it, however, to the point that he admits that there are “pathetic nit picky children” who post there.

I’m sure the group’s members appreciate the characterization. He’s free to identify the offenders by name so as not to cast unwarranted aspersions on the others.

SHPG supporters never die, they just continue to lay in wait for the opportunity to gain public exposure and misguided recognition. Living in the past is an easier, softer path for them than to man or woman up to current reality.

    Bummer
