Good article. People sometimes treat the “Mud March” as a bit of a joke, Mules in mud up to their ears, but it wasn’t a joke to the poor soldiers having to sleep in the rain or eat uncooked food. The Mud March caused quite a bit of sickness and a few deaths from exposure. It also caused an massive increase in desertions.
Concise, direct and an easy read. Thanks for sharing.
Bummer
Enjoyed it…plus I found a couple of other websites like loa.org and the Civil War 150 site. Thanks
A meteorologists told me that the Mud March was a classic nor’easter.
