I’d find a Union reencatment unit to march from Illinois to Virginia to lay a wreath at Lee’s tomb. And I’d find a Confederate reenactment unit to march from Virginia to Illinois to lay a wreath at Lincoln’s tomb. Then I’d have both units meet in Washington, shake hands, and have refreshments, and then form up while the President announces an initiative to encourage historic preservation and artifact conservation.
