Over the next month or two I’m going to introduce two experiments for this blog that will emphasize the interactive aspect of blogging. One comes via a suggestion offered in the comments section, while the other is just an idea.
Tomorrow I’ll introduce “The Saturday Question,” in which readers will submit questions they’d like to see discussed by everyone. Tomorrow’s question poses a few counterfactuals concerning George B. McClellan.
The other idea is a post that will allow readers to share observations on a few classics of Civil War literature. We’ll start with Robert Penn Warren’s The Legacy of the Civil War and then more to Michael Shaara’s The Killer Angels. We will discuss each book in clunks, spread out over several weekends. I’ll offer more details on Warren tomorrow.
It will be interesting to see how each of these ideas works.
