A great-great-great grandfather of mine is not in frame in this painting, but he’s somewhere nearby. He’s probably laying or sitting down in the shade. I bet he heard this cheer though.

Speaking of Vicksburg, does anyone have any knowledge about this:

“This year a new work, Vicksburg Blitzkrieg, will be published, and will provide assessments of the Vicksburg Campaign from various subject matter experts. Chapters will be written by area residents Michael Ballard, Tim Smith, Gary Joiner, and Parker Hills, and others, while the well-respected Stephen Woodworth will edit the book.”

Any chance Woodworth would be willing to have a bug put in his ear about certain details of the campaign? 😀

I assume you can contact Steve Woodworth by e-mail by visiting his page/information at TCU.
