Could you offer recommendations, or personal quick responses, for Reconstruction mythology debunking? I ask both out of personal interest and for greater public exposure.

I thought it was the fleeing Confederates who torched Richmond, and that the incoming Union troops were putting out the fires.

In the credits (“Sources”), he lists “James McPherson” as responsible for “Research”: Maybe all you have to do to label yourself an expert is to read one book.

is it just me or is he pretty much labeling ‘Reconstruction’ as building the physical infrastructure rather than the social and political?
seemed to be quite an emphasis on destroyed railroads…
