In 1885 a dying Ulysses S. Grant and his family left New York City and traveled north to Mt. McGregor, where they would live in a cottage and an adjoining resort hotel just north of Saratoga Springs. Today and tomorrow, I’ll share some videos of this undervisited and somewhat remote site, which I visited last June.

Although Grant did not live to see fall come to Mt. McGregor, here’s some views of the property as the leaves turn gold and brown:
