    I always blame it on The Pill. Hard to arouse patriotism when the “youth” are aroused in other ways.

    George Stuart Benson, whose group made the film, was a right-wing academic at a Christian college, hence the heroic role of the college professor.

    Damned conservatives running academia.

    Poor John – it’s 1972 and he’s a straight A student, football star (wearing his letterman’s sweater during the revolution, no less), AND a Vietnam veteran, and he gets locked in the library with a middle-aged male history professor and three figments of his imagination…

    Plus they play God Save the Queen over the closing credits…the fascist regime.

    Yeah, T.F. Smith, that letterman sweater is a dead giveaway that he’s a commie. I like that he’s apparently descended from from DAR stock, but somehow an Irish immigrant “ancestor” who introduces himself with the phrase “Begorrah” on his lips arrives with what looks like one of those hand cranks they used to start cars with in the early 1900s.
