For the first time I have a real sense for the hardships experienced by the ordinary soldier in that war. The NPS should take this on as a living history project. After making the audience sign a release, of course.
Yeah, maybe they can do a “living history” based around the government–sponsored legalized prostitution in Nashville during the war. This was prompted by the realization that the Confederate floozy was probably causing more Union casualties in that city’s “red light” district than the CS army was in front of Corinth.
Yet another addition to the Confederacy’s fearsome array of weaponry.
I cannot figure how this awful and hideous link is connected to Bernadette’s book. I saw the first clip, which I thought would never end and threw up. I have just ordered the book. Thanks for posting it.
Bernandette brought this clip to my attention (and yours) on Facebook. She’s one of two Civil War historians who grew up in Seaford in the 1960s. BTW, that’s the South Shore. 🙂
