“We’re not offending anybody,” Barry Isenhour, a member of Virginia Flaggers, told the Journal.
Sure, Barry.
Wonder whether Barry also shared his comment that this flag would be the first of several that would be posted across the Old Dominion. No mention of the Flaggers’ association with Matthew Heimbach … but there’s always the comments section.
The Flaggers sure can pick their spokespeople. They miss Susan Hathaway now more than ever. As to just why she’s now Silent Susan, well, that’s a story for another day.
But in their words…you’re either southern or….you’re black????

So…follow me now…if there is a black history month… we owe it to the confederate fetishists to have a “confederate history month”?
Well, maybe if there was a union history month, or a northern history month … which there is NOT…I can maybe understand it.
But, this position of standing up against the idea of black history month for their month makes this a racial fight, as they see their cause as a racial cause that needs the same attention as another racial cause.
They see themselves as a white cause for their white supremacist dreamland that would have happened if they had only won that war they got themselves into.
And this is from their own words now!
LibertyLamp, try and find it in your heart to cut Clint Lacy some slack. It’s not been an easy time for him lately. First there was the discovery that non-white drivers are ruining NASCAR. Then there was the 2012 presidential campaign, where the GOP ignored his suggestion to run on a campaign platform of fried chicken, and consequently lost the election. (Not that the other Republican candidates were any better, because Rick Santorum is just like Hitler.) As always, there are way too many streets named for MLK, and there’s intolerance everywhere, as evidenced by the numerous Sons of Union Veterans Camps located in Missouri. To top it all off, Lacy got thumped 2-to-1 in his bid for re-election to the Board of Aldermen for Marble Hill, Missouri.
Yes, he blogged all that stuff as an elected public official. He even uses “ALDERMANLACY” as his username.
So have some compassion, LibertyLamp. It isn’t easy being Clint Lacy.
Andy,
All I can say is…*FACE-PALM*
I think someone blew Clint Lacy’s pilot light out. Almost three times as many Union soldiers as Confederates hailed from Missouri (110,000 to about 35,000-40,000). The existence of SUVCW camps there shouldn’t surprise anyone. As for non-white drivers, it sounds like Clint longs for the “glory days” when black drivers in NASCAR were snubbed and deliberately crashed by the white guys.
“We’re not offending anybody.” Now that’s a ridiculous statement. No one can control how other people react.
