Yet Another Take on the Confederate Flag

… because otherwise we’d be bemoaning John Tavares’s injury, the year-long farewell to Derek Jeter, and a dismal performance by the USA men’s hockey team at the Olympics.

Shame about Tavares but – since it happened and being “life goes on” here – can I have Andrew MacDonald really, really cheap? You can keep Vanek for the next 6 weeks. And good on you for not blaming Team USA’s exit on the dissing of Kyle Okposo 🙂

MacDonald’s been a mixed bag this year, although that’s because the Isles’ blue line lacks big bodies. I wonder how Okposo would do without Tavares and Vanek (who will be gone). I like Vanek, but it’s obvious that he’ll test the waters in Minnesota first.

We’re looking for reasonably-priced experience on the back end. Unless McQuaid gets his “lower body injury” situation stabilized, it’ll be Chara, Boychuck and the Kiddie Corps back there, with Trotman and Warsofsky up next. Not the recipe for a long run, so MacDonald would look pretty good from that standpoint. And I finally saw in the Olympics the same Michael Grabner I see every time – I mean every time – the Isles play Boston. Looks like a Hart candidate in those games…

Absolutely hilarious. Most of the rest are equally funny.

I’m thinking “keeping people as livestock” would be a better turn of phrase than “keeping people as pets,” though.
