Congratulations to the ‘Hoos. Too bad my school flamed out in its first year in the ACC. Well, on the men’s side, anyway. The ladies are doing pretty danged good…. 🙂
Yours truly picked his dorms according to the names of Civil War generals, so I ended up in Hancock, which was the only all-male dorm remaining. My second pick was Webb … which was all-female. Oh well.
…. who won that latest round in the Michigan “Civil War” by beating the Michigan Wolverines for the Big Ten Tournament Championship.. .. #GoSpartans

Like you, I’m not a real sports fan. Enjoy college football, college basketball in March and MLB in September/October. As you can tell, a rabid fan. As for MSU, they played a whale of a game and now that they are all healthy, I think they may surprise a few folks. Besides, two of my kids went there so I have to root for ’em.

“Last time that happened, I was in my first year of college at Charlottesville” “My second pick was Webb … which was all-female”
You expect us to believe they had women in college back in 1865 when you were a freshman ?
Congratulations to you and the ‘Hoos this year, Brooks. The Hokie team was pretty bad this year, though we did beat Miami twice. The ‘Canes ought to wear bags over their heads for that!
My interest in college athletics is largely limited to UVa men’s basketball and lacrosse and Wisconsin men’s hockey … as well as my students, one of whom is tourney bound. My three years at Wofford taught me a great deal about college athletics, as did an amusing brush with the ASU Athletic Department (involving, of all things, the women’s cross-country team coach, who is no longer at ASU).

I’m guessing that you did not care for this past weekend’s 9-18 result in men’s lax. 🙂

As a Duke fan, I congratulate UVA. They were the best team today.

Don’t forget to root for your old stomping grounds–Wofford! The Terriers face U of MI on Thursday night. Our motto of course is #conquer and prevail!

Me, too. Maupin Dorm.

And a No. 1 seed to boot.
Thanks, I believe, to Michigan State. 🙂

Well, 110 years later, they did … and we don’t say “freshman” at UVa.
Congrats also to ASU.
I’m sure my student who plays on the team will appreciate that. 🙂 He’s in the honors college, BTW.
