      Well, sir, why do you think us Yankees had all them underground railroad passages if it weren’t for hiding them slaves from the prying eyes of Confederate spies? They worked our cornfields by day and we hide ’em in those passageways at night.

    Well, certainly the quote highlighted is original and creative. It’s just also plain wrong, but you find it too hard to say that. Why? 🙂

    Of course, we know what Carl defines as original and creative … Hey, Arnold!

    Oh, for crying out loud. Even by their standards that’s a ridiculous statement. And here I was chuckling at the “proof” in the census records that Abraham Lincoln had a slave. This is a new low–Lanette’s U.S. history teacher must be so proud of her.
