Quote of the Week: October 12-18, 2014

I guess we’ve come to expect this from a supporter of the Virginia Flaggers:

Well soon the Pagan holiday will be here and those who celebrate and don their masks and costumes will be out into the night. I will say that many, costume or regular do, are already out and already doing their anti good, anti Southern heritage, and what is none of their business, their actions and criticisms and outright lies, which is what they have done for more than 150 years. I wanted to add a few photos of a few of the rascals, who we all can see everyday and not just on Halloween, people whom we wish were in West Africa, with all those who are remiss in hygiene, and health standards, who eat things in filth and who abode with certain animals and things that they should not abode with. Some American homosexuals do these same things I might add, and the diseases are created and spread by some of these filthy men and some women. All the diseases are not physical, some are diseases of the mind, spiritual diseases, where men say things they know are not true, about about themselves as well as about others.
Some of these men also use aliases and swear they they don’t. These liars, these homosexuals, these perverts, these racists who hide behind the shields and smokescreens they falsely create as they call you and I racists to cover there ill deeds, are as filthy as the West Africans in many respects. These assholes attack the innocents just as a nasty virus does, without regard for decency, or justification, as they are no respecters of men.

I think we all know what Jerry’s costume will look like.

Congrats on getting credit in his long list before Grant and Sherman, Dr. Brooks!

So my Great-grandfather and a number of uncles stand accused of murder, rape, and theft…. What a bunch of BS…..

Correct ! Freshly laundered with new eye holes cut !!

  4. John Foskett October 18, 2014 / 7:55 am

    He doesn’t need one.

There is something wonderful about his juxtaposition of Grant and the happiest woman in the world, but I can’t put my finger on it.

Jerry’s subconscious must be wild wild place, cause i doubt he thinks that hard about much. It came from a hateful, racist place…but that pairing is not NOT art.

Wow! I’ve fallen off the list. I guess I’ve been too busy teaching students history.

I am so proud to be on the list of folks Jerry wants his readers to think about during this, our sacred holy day season of All Saints and All Souls Days. I just wonder why he included Hitler and Stalin in this list of his:
“So as Halloween comes along, think of Lincoln, Hitler, Stalin, think of Simpson, Hall, Meyer, Mackey, Young, Levin, think of Union Generals Sherman, Hunter, Sheridan, Custer, Merritt, Butler, Burnside and Grant”

I like that he took the time to paste pictures of us all into his blog.

Jerry seems to have no problem with the theft of intellectual property. The only property rights he seems to care about is owning other people.

It takes a truly special mind to condemn “racists” and “filthy West Africans” in the same sentence.

I plan on spending my Samhain is West Georgia camping with some pagan friends 🙂 Maybe I should invite Jerry, would change his prospective.

Dumbford’s nothing but a stupid, mentally ill racist. The flaggers must be so proud.

The combination of arrogance, ignorance, and hatred is simple breath-taking.

A little late to this party….

An interesting quote nonetheless from someone most likely descended from yeoman farmers rather than the planter class. I guess he would have me burn my B.A. and M.A. (well they were earned at that liberal university on the Hill), abandon my successful career in the urban South, return to my ancestral plantation (which by the way, my male cousins inherited) in the Santee area, manage the now “farm” books and take my appropriate place in his dream of a patriarchal society- where I would dominate the lackluster feminine sphere (no thanks). Shall I go on- my ancestors (unfortunately) did own slaves, I am mortified, not honored- by my “150 years” of southern heritage. Personally I would have been the black sheep of the family, a fiery abolitionist. My ancestors had it wrong, not right. This is why History lessons are so important-

Thank you for letting me vent 🙂

That post is s near blinding nexus of mega-wingnut paranoia. Bravo, Jerry, bravo.

Strictly speaking he is correct, Halloween is a Pagan holiday. It has no ties to Christianity, it is Pagan. I don’t celebrate it myself, not because of it’s Pagan connections, but because I always considered it a holiday for the kids to bother us adults for free candy. It was fine when I was a kid, but not now.

    • John Foskett October 23, 2014 / 10:05 am

Actually, that’s not entirely accurate. “Halloween” reflects a contraction of the term referring to the eve of all Saints Day and the term is definitely of Christian origin. It therefore would be a Christianized adoption of what originally was a pagan celebration. As usual, Dumbford was able to assimilate only a part of the relevant information. He makes broken clocks appear reliable.
