By the way, Mr. Wallace displays a Confederate Battle Flag on his blog. It is my understanding that the people such as those who populate the gift that keeps on giving are determined to protest the appropriation of that flag by white supremacist groups. So where’s the protest? Does the lack of protest support Ms. Chastain’s argument about the ineffectiveness of the group? Or does it document its lack of sincerity, especially in light of the willingness of members of the group to attack other people with whom they disagree?

I love how she attributes motives to me. In fact, I was giving her the opportunity to distance herself from Mr. Wallace. Her major effort along this line was to note that Mr. Wallace roots for Auburn while she roots for Alabama.
(I’d love to know whether Mr. Wallace ever expressed himself about Cam Newton.)

After all, if she claims I’m tarring her with the racist brush by drawing attention to Hunter Wallace’s post answering her query, then why doesn’t she call Mr. Wallace’s views racist? There’s no hint as to the nature of the disagreement. Maybe she thinks Mr. Wallace doesn’t go far enough. Who knows?
Of course it was Mr. Wallace who drew attention to her, but she doesn’t seem offended, nor does she go into great detail on where and why she disagrees with him.
Perhaps she agrees with her friend Mr. Hall about race and religion. Perhaps she’s simply not very articulate on such matters. She just seems angry all the time. But now she has a Facebook group as well as a website with which to denounce me. Whatever makes her happy, I guess.
It’s quite interesting the comments that are made in retaliation in her group.

Hall, Jr. have expressed support for Hunter Wallace’s views, perhaps Ms. Chastain is afraid she’ll lose her fans if she denounces Wallace’s racial views. I can answer that one. Because anyone who has politically incorrect opinions and has to keep a job effectively does not have free speech. The southern poverty law center uses mafia style racketeering tactics, calling the employers of politically incorrect bloggers and saying, “I’m a journalist doing a story on neo-nazis and I would like to ask you a few questions about your employee, Joe Smith.” Of coures, it’s not about some “story,” it’s about destroying someone’s livelihood.

I am very much a futurist. I am a student of science and technology, and I correspond with people who are doing research in reproductive eugenics in Russia.

Also apart from the fact that claims linking social behavior to genes are dubious (not because there are not links, but because they are hard to discover and genes are presumably one factor among many that determine social behavior), you might want to read the actual scientific report occasionally. News agencies generally sensationalize science, making it easy for the unwary to misunderstand it and claim that there is something like, say, a liberal gene.

The basis of IQ theory is false, and so no advance will ever be able to make high IQ *test scores* without also providing the kind of environment to grow up in that produces people with a high degree of proficiency on standardized tests of the relevant type. But you can always advocate for eugenics anyway, and I’m sure you will. Not clear to me that you’d survive your own eugenics screening program if you had to.
The US Army has used IQ tests (the ASVAB nowadays) since the 1920’s and it works for them. They found that IQ is predictive for performance, whether for a West Point cadet or a diesel mechanic.
Not even the Science* for the People types like Lewontin or Gould or Rose believe that there’s no such thing as IQ, or that it’s “all environment.”
I guess you think that you could take any kid from anywhere and turn him or her into a rocket scientist? That intelligence is totally, 100% teachable and of environment? I kind of feel dirty for engaging such racism when there are better things to do (e.g. learning about they Corker/Beard election), but one of the reason I did not reply was because an unconfirmable anecdote is not evidence. To counter with another, more confirmable anecdote: I live in Hawaii and cannot imagine there not being diversity here. I walk down the street and hear Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, and gosh knows what other languages. Diversity is a major part of why living in Hawaii is wonderful.
As for the value of diversity, that is easy. Read about the European Renaissance, the Tang dynasty, ancient Greece, or American history (I could go on, but why bother?). Diversity was essential to all four.
